There’s something about freshly manicured nails that really makes you feel lady like. I’ve been doing my own nails for years, and have become very well versed on how to get long lasting, perfect polish.
I’m a big fan of the OPI brand. It’s cheap & cheerful (about $8 a bottle) good quality (last about 2-3 days before chipping) and easy to touch up.
I always have a pop of colour on my nails. My colour choice is usually red, coral or a pink. Lately, I’ve been curious to try out a shade of blue. Something I wouldn’t usually gravitate towards, but after the Chanel & Oscar de la Renta runway shows, I’m a warming up to the idea.
Doesn’t OPI always come up with the best names?!
- Red – Red Lights Ahead…Where?
- Hot pink – Kiss Me on My Tulip
- Light shimmer pink – Pedal Faster Suzi
- Shimmer blue – I have a herring problem
I chose the shimmer pink first, which will be perfect for the spring season. It’s all about the pastel shades for the upcoming season. It was a gorgeous day in Vancouver today. A lovely reminder that Spring is on her way !
The always classy Derek Blasberg paid a visit to Vancouver this February to promote the second addition to his book series Classy.
The air is cool and crisp, the people are friendly, and there’s an abundance of acid wash denim. I think we’ll be good friends, Vancouver – Derek Blasberg, via twitter
The Room decked out mannequins in bright & neon colour. The mannequins donned cut out face mask of the Man of the hours grin . Blasberg’s classy & quirky ettique advice was quoted in vinyl over the walls & displays. A stack of “Very Classy” books was displayed for Blasberg to sign for every guest. The delightful & approachable Blasberg addressed each book to eager, and many Vancouver fans.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Derek remember the names of many guests as he bid farewell for the evening. What a gentleman – a skill to be admired.
Coffee catch up with my assistant Scott, and Kate Moss
Today, we Spring forward – we push our clocks forward 1 hour in anticipation of Spring (joy)
In light of the Spring season, I have Spring cleaning (and redecorating) on my mind. I do find Home decor shopping for my apartment a very enjoyable past time. I like reorganizing, reconfiguring furniture & making what’s old new again.
I’m winding down my week at Suki’s Salon. Perfect Friday afternoon, getting my hair done & catching up on fashion magazine. Big shout out to the staff at Suki’s – they are truly some of the most talented (& friendliest) stylists in the city.
