His designs are a favourite among Hollywood stars, especially on the red carpet. The collection launches at select Banana Republic locations worldwide and online in early August.
The news of H&M’s latest collaboration broke late Saturday night. Excitement filled social media as fashion darling Alexander Wang was announced as the latest collaboration during an event at the Coachella Music Festival, in Palm Springs, California. This partnership marks the first time that an American designer teams up with H&M on the much anticipated designer collaboration.
There’s no business like shoe business! Shoe designer Brian Atwood has joined forces with Steve Madden. Atwood has two labels – his designer line and a lower-priced contemporary label, B Brian Atwood. Atwood exercised his buy-back option when his company’s controlling shareholder, The Jones Group, began looking to sell. This allowed Madden to step in after eight months of negotiations.
On April 10th, H&M will launch its new Conscious and Conscious Exclusive collections. This season they will introduce two new materials – organic leather from Swedish leather supplier Tärnsjö, and organic silk. The collections show that sustainable fashion can indeed offer beautiful and highly wearable creations. In parallel with the launch, H&M is also introducing the use of CleverCare, a new system of labeling symbols and guidelines to promote sustainable wear and care.
