Location: The Pavilion at Lincoln Center Colour
Palette: Robin’s Egg and Cerulean Blue, Ivory, Yellow
Must Have Item: Sophia Webster shoes and the sequined skirts.
The J.Crew Spring 2015 presentation was filled with a series of outfits that are easy, casual and effortless. The Spring collection combined many of J.Crew’s favourite signature pieces such as sequined skirts, maritime striped shirts, anoraks and bleached denim, but presented them with new proportions and fresh elements.
We loved the flare-culotte hybrid pants and the short-sleeve pocketed caftans. Tom Mora, Head of J.Crew women’s design revealed that the collection was inspired by the artistic beauty of the cultures in Latin America: “I was drawn to their distinctive approach to stripes, ikats, intricate textiles and interesting colour combinations- specifically from Mexico and Peru.” The Men’s collection drew on sun-drenched Mediterranean fishing villages for inspiration.
The men’s lineup features loose-fitting chambray pullovers, patchwork denim jeans and nautical stripes throughout. The entire collection was very fresh, and very J.Crew. We’re already dreaming of what we’ll wear to work in the Spring.
