Style Calling is proud to present Summer Calling; a 4 part trend series focusing on key looks for your favourite activities during the summer season. We’ve partnered up with some of our favourite brands to bring you the ultimate style guide.
When it comes to hitting the beach, the Style Calling girl knows that it’s not just about having a cute bathing suit but having a complete look that can work from sunrise to sunset. With wearing a bathing suit, there are endless options for cover-ups; from a basic t-shirt and a pair of shorts to maxi dresses. We paired the bathing suit with a pair of vertically striped cotton shorts that complimented the stripes on the top as well keeping the blue tone to match the throw over Tea’s shoulders. We picked up two beautiful scarves from H&M and created not just a great throw over Tea’s bikini-set but turned another scarf into a headwear to keep those beachy waves tame and your head cool. For shoes, bid adieu to the flip flops and pick up a pair of bright sandals that provide both comfort and complete the look all together.
If you ever get stuck on how to accessorize your summer time looks, don’t be afraid to just experiment! It takes trial and error but the result could be a chic summer time look that can leave those around you in awe.
For your beauty look, keep your hair relaxed – you can leave it down and au natural or tie it up in a braid to keep things clean. Keep the make-up at minimum. On top of your sunscreen, you can use tinted moisturizer to keep your skin tone even and your skin hydrated. Water-proof mascara is always the safest bet and a little gloss can go a long way. But remember that hydration is key, especially on a hot and sunny day.
For the fellas, we focused on keeping things light and the fabrics cool. When you’re not rocking your swimming trunks, you can throw on a pair of denim shorts, a plain t-shirt and finish the look with a printed, thicker cotton tee that can take you into the late hours of the night around a bonfire. But it’s the beach, so shirts are always optional.
Make sure to keep your hair out of your face and take care of your skin by applying SPF and if your skin is a little uneven, a little tinted moisturizer can go a long way.
Thank you to H&M for providing all of the clothing and accessories.
