The Terrazza di Peroni annual summer party brought a piece of Italy to Toronto on a balmy July evening. From the rooftop of Malaparte at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, the stylish guests, among them Glen Baxter, designer Christopher Paunil, and musician Brendan Canning, took in breathtaking views of the Toronto skyline and enjoyed ice-cold Peroni and amazing bites from Oliver and Bonicini. We couldn’t get enough of the grilled octopus or the steak tenderloin with quail egg.
The Toronto event, hosted annually in cities throughout North America, is a social scene highlight and featured each year in the Globe and Mail. A special art installation exhibited photographs of Italy by 9 Canadians luminaries including stylist George Antonopoulos, model Heather Marks, and Kirk Pickersgill & Stephen Wong of Greta Constantine.
Aside from the ever-flowing Peroni, our favourites from the event were the amazing gelato bar, complete with fresh cherries and pop rocks, and the stunning jewellery designer Jenny Bird, who, at 7 months pregnant, wowed everyone with her style and energy.
The event went well into the night with guests still arriving after 9pm, eating the last bite of delicious food and drinking the very last drop of Italy’s favourite lager, and dancing under the twinkling lights to the live band.
