Vancouver’s South Granville district just received a new “remedy” for retail therapy with the opening of lifestyle boutique WANT Apothecary last Thursday evening. After much success in Montreal and Toronto, twin brothers Byron and Dexter Peart and co-founders Mark Wiltzer and Jacqueline Gelber opened their first retail store on the West Coast. Located among the stylish boutiques and art galleries that epitomize the area, this modern-day apothecary is right at home.
The chic boutique offers a carefully curated selection of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, luxe beauty products, and elegant home ware. The front of the store is stocked with sought after brands including Acne, Nudie Jeans, Maison Kitsuné, Filippa K and WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie.
The design of the boutique reflects the same trendy but polished aesthetic as the products inside. The design of the space is a collaboration between Vancouver architecture firm Edison & Sprinkles and esteemed interior designer Maria Di Ioia, who has been responsible for the design of all WANT Apothecary locations. The store is bright and welcoming, featuring aged herringbone patterned floors and custom-designed dark oak tables. The Roll & Hill smoked bulb chandeliers resemble a molecular composition, once again a nod to the pharmaceutical atmosphere.
